Beschreibung:

Mercedes-Benz have been producing an SL model or range of models since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German 'Sport Leicht' or 'Sport Light' and was first applied to the 300SL Roadster, the 300SL 'Gullwing' named after the upward-opening doors. The similarly styled but mechanically unrelated 190SL followed in 1955 completing the first generation of cars. The second generation SL's began with the 230 in 1963 and was distinguished by its lower waistline, big curved screens and a distinctive optional hardtop that earned the model its nickname of `pagoda top'. The car featured a two-door monocoque body shell with independent suspension all round, coil springs and anti-roll bar at the front and semi-trailing arms, coil springs and anti-roll bar at the rear. The power assisted steering was Daimler-Benz's own re-circulating ball system. Purchased by the previous owner in 2005 at 68,900 miles, the odometer shows that he used the car very sparingly covering only just over 4,000 miles; prior to his ownership the car reportedly had one lady owner from 1990 who also used the car only occasionally, covering just 6,000 miles in fifteen years. Finished in metallic gold with matching hardtop, brown cloth upholstery and riding on smart alloy wheels, the car is described as in excellent condition throughout and is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in October 2014, the service book pack containing the handbook and service book which shows a full Mercedes history up to 63,000 miles and a file containing old MoT certificates and invoices. This is an opportunity to purchase a much loved R107 model Mercedes-Benz that, given the estimate, is offered at a realistic price.
