It has remained in production, in various guises and model years in the seven decades since then making the SL the second longest single series ever produced by the German manufacturer. When this 500SL was purchased by the vendor in 2014 the odometer reading was 73,000 miles. In the six years he has owned this iconic sports tourer he has only added 800 miles to that total. During his tenure this V8 engined Mercedes has benefitted from new tyres, a new stainless steel exhaust system, work to the suspension and brakes and an engine service.
