1983 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL Lot Number237 Registration361 TTU Chassis Number10704522021481 Engine Number11696022011885 Odometer reading87,240 miles Estimate£10,000 - £14,000 Print details Send this to a friend Introduced in early 1971, this impressive two-seater sports car replaced the 280 SL. The body and chassis of the third generation SL was considerably heavier and longer than its predecessor but it still showed a resemblance. The standard transmission provided a top speed of 130mph and a very respectable 0-62mph in 8.8 seconds. As with the previous generations of SLs, the vehicle came as an open roadster with a removable hardtop roof. The R107 body shape went on to become one of the longest running styles from Mercedes-Benz, remaining in production until 1989 with some 13 variants during the production run. This pleasant example of Mercedes-Benz's 'little black dress' is presented in metallic blue with matching blue interior. Purchased by a company chairman as his weekend conveyance, 361 TTU is described as being huge fun. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a fresh MoT test certificate, the sale of this Autobahn cruiser includes the cherished registration number and the all important hardtop. This V8 engined Mercedes promises to give miles and miles of enjoyment to its next owner.
