Beschreibung:

The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 were produced from 1971 through to 1989 being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G-Class. They were sold under the SL and SLC model names with the R107 replacing the W113 SL-Class in 1972 which was in turn replaced by the R129 SL-Class in 1989. The SL variant was a two seater convertible/roadster with standard soft top and hardtop and optional folding seats for the rear bench. Volume production of the first SL, the 350SL, started in April 1971, alongside the last of the W113 cars. The SL Roadster has since become the epitome of what a luxury roadster should look like and can be found anywhere from Ashford to the Antibes and indeed in every corner of the earth and wherever the jet-set congregate. This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster has had two registered owners and has covered 73,400 miles from new. The second owner, who also lived in Surrey, purchased the car in 2000 and only used it sparingly; it has only covered 2,000 miles in the last ten years. The vendor has had the car fully serviced in the last twelve months and it has just received a new MoT test certificate. It is finished in pale green with matching hardtop and a beige cloth interior, is supplied with a V5C registration document, 2015, a handbook pack which includes the service book which is stamped up to 2004 and a file containing invoices and old MoT test certificates. Requiring some minor restoration to the hood cover, this car would make into a practical modern day classic.
