The Jaguar XJS is a luxury grand tourer based on the XJ Saloon and manufactured until 1996 replacing the legendary E-Type from September 1975. It had been developed as the XK-F, though it was very different in character from its predecessor. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was a competent grand tourer. From July 1981, XJS received the new High-Efficiency engine delivering much better economy; as a by-product, power was increased also to 295bhp. At the same time, the XJS received changes to its exterior and interior. New five-spoke alloy wheels, chrome inserts on the upper part of the bumpers, wood inserts on dashboard and door cappings finishing the luxury look. These cars remained in production in coupe and convertible form until 1990. This example is an extremely rare low mileage car having been cared for in the hands of just two owners. Finished in an attractive Cobalt Blue and contrasting Tan Hide rated by the vendor as 10/10, this is the most attractive XJS we've seen in recent memory. The 5.3litre V12 engine delivers impressive drivability, and when called upon can easily satisfy the drivers desire to challenge the cars touring performance. Offered with V5C registration certificate and a guaranteed disqualification from the green brigades' Christmas card list, this Jaguar is undoubtedly the most elegant way to tour the countries highways...
