Beschreibung:

The Mercedes R 107 was launched in 1971 and production continued through to 1989 - a hefty 18 years; the longest single series ever produced by the firm besides the G-Class utility vehicle. The R 107 replaced the W 113 Pagoda SL in 1972 and was replaced by the R 129 SL in 1989. Some 237,000 R 107 SL's were built and about two thirds were sold in the US. The car was essentially a two-seater sports car although a small seating arrangement was available behind the front seats. Mercedes-Benz offered a number of engine choices over the years, the first cars in 1971 being fitted with the 350 engine, a V8 3.5-litre unit. By 1973 a larger 4.5-litre V8 was available, constructed primarily for the US market. The SL Roadster has since become the epitome of how a luxury roadster should look and is as popular today as when first launched. This stunning Mercedes-Benz 380 SL, in a period combination of metallic bronze with biscuit trim, is in splendid condition and has clearly led a pampered life. Owned by the vendor for some 19 years, the car has only been used for high days and holidays clocking up a mere 2,600 miles, all whilst being serviced annually as evidenced by the maintenance book near full of main dealer and specialist service stamps. Offered with matching hard top, the original tools, first aid kit and handbooks are also present within the impressive history file together with the maintenance booklet and a wealth of MoT test certificates, including a current one, making this lovely, low-owner example a must for viewing.
