Beschreibung:

For 1981, Rolls-Royce did something very unusual, it introduced several new models. The Silver Shadow II was gone, replaced by the Silver Spirit, and the long-wheelbase Silver Wraith II was superseded by the Silver Spur. Essentially similar except for wheelbase, the new Rolls-Royce models were less angular and upright in appearance. Both models were powered by overhead valve V-8 engines displacing 6,750cc. Breathing through Bosch K-Jetronic fuel-injection, they surely produced well over 200 horsepower. But like a lady and her age, Rolls-Royce would never tell. Suspension was fully independent and brakes were disc all around. The new Rolls-Royce motorcars were relatively quick, but being large of girth, it was better not to rush them too much. Like many Rolls-Royce cars, they were built primarily for the benefit of the passenger, not the driver. For the passenger, there was ample leather and fine wood, air conditioning, power everything and a very supple ride. But if your name was Barris and this was your personal car, it went a step further. Inside, fur seat covers topped the fine Connolly hides. Outside, there was custom pearl gold paint, gold leaf striping and a special top. Not satisfied with ordinary wheels or wheel covers, George Barris specified wire wheels. In Southern California in 1981, there were many Rolls-Royce cars, but there was just a single one with this Barris treatment. The Barris Kustom Rolls-Royce premiered at the Barris Movie & TV Cars book signing, the grand opening of the famous Beverly Hills restaurant Crustaceans and at a Zsa Zsa Gabor promotion. This particular Rolls-Royce was used by George Barris and his family. It is one of a kind, yet it is still capable of being used for either special occasions or for everyday transportation, with style. Without Reserve
