The landmark SC replaced all non-Turbo 911s, first being presented to the general public at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring 7Jx16 Fuchs rear rims and flared wings, it was offered in either coupé or targa form. Power came from the three litre Carrera engine, detuned to 180bhp and a five-speed 915 transmission. This was still good enough to return a 0-60mph time of 6.4 seconds and would propel the car on to a maximum of 144mph. Ordered by Porsche cars UK in 1979 before registering new in 1980 as NPW 510V, this 911SC Targa is presented in Guards Red with biscuit leather interior. In 1995, this example was subject to a theft and, as such, classified at the time by the DVLA as stolen/recovered with the VIN plate having been removed by the miscreants. The DVLA re-issued a new VIN plate and registration Q788 HVF. The current vendor has since obtained written confirmation from Porsche UK and the DVLA that this is indeed the original car VIN: 91A0131674 with the matching engine 6301552 and originally registered as NPW 510V. In the last 11 years, under the ownership of the current vendor, much of this important correspondence has been logged within the history file and can be found alongside a wealth of MoT test certificates and maintenance records. The current owner has maintained the car to a very good standard with MoT test certificate until August 2017 and the car is presented in very good condition whilst offered, attractively, at no reserve. Do not be fooled by the odometer reading however, on any Porsche with the 2993cc engine; as with much Porsche engineering, these examples were built to last.
