Beschreibung:

The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 were produced from 1971 through to 1989, being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G-Class. They were sold under the SL (R107) and SLC (C107) model names with the R107 replacing the W113 SL-Class in 1972 which was in turn replaced by the R129 SL-Class in 1989. The SL variant was a 2-seat convertible/roadster with standard soft top and hardtop and optional folding seats for the rear bench. Volume production of the first SL, the 350SL, started in April, 1971 alongside the last of the W113 cars. From July, 1974 both SL and SLC could also be ordered with a fuel-injected 2.8L straight six as 280SL and SLC models. The SL Roadster has since become the epitome of what a luxury roadster should look like and can be found from Ashford to Antibes and indeed in every corner of the earth and wherever the jet-set congregate. Originally delivered overseas, this model was imported to the UK some time ago. Its early history is largely unknown; it is not a US specification example and is of righthand drive orientation. Originally white, it was painted a metallic blue by the vendor in 2009; the soft-top has been replaced at some point and is in good condition throughout. A number of upgrades have also taken place including alloy wheels and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Presented here with a recent light service as well as new brake pads, plugs and leads, it has an MoT test certificate valid until October, 2012 and is a sound example of a lightly-personalised Mercedes-Benz roadster.
