Légèrement restylées et plus cossues les Mini Innocenti connurent un vif succès. En 1972, Innocenti est repris par B.L.M.C qui lance la 1000 et 1001 parallèlement aux désirables Innocenti Cooper. Le véhicule présenté est une sympathique Innocenti Mini Cooper en version 1300 cc d'origine italienne. Il a été livré neuf à Milan en mai 1974 à Mahmoud Reza Pahlavi demi-frère du Chah d'Iran Mohammad Reza. Il a ensuite été acquis par le beau-père de l'actuelle propriétaire fin 1981. Cette Mini qui a un temps suivi ses propriétaires en Angleterre a été restaurée par l'éminent spécialiste " Wood & Pickett " de Londres en 1989. Les travaux effectués ont notamment porté sur la mécanique et la carrosserie, ainsi que sur quelques modifications, comme la personnalisation bicolore avec les teintes d'origine, l'abaissement de la suspension, la pose de jantes " Maifrini " en 12 pouces et d'un échappement de Cooper S…Récemment, après une période d'arrêt la voiture a été remise en route par Atelier Mini Paris pour un montant de près de 3500€. Toujours bien stockée et affichant à peine 38150 km, cette Mini est aujourd'hui en bel état et son essai nous a permis d'apprécier son réel comportement dynamique.
