1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce Lot Number 318 Registration UK Registered Chassis Number 3044025 Engine Number TBA Odometer reading 6,430 miles Estimate £10,000 - £14,000 Result Sold - £15,120 Print details Send this to a friend The Alfa Romeo Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993 and is widely regarded as a design classic. It remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The final Alfa Romeo Spider, and the last rear wheel drive vehicle produced before the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione debuted in May 2012, was produced in April 1993. The first presentation of the car, as a prototype, was at the Turin Motor Show in 1961, however, the continuing success of existing models and the economic challenges facing Italy at the time meant that the first pre-launch Spiders only began to emerge from the Pininfarina production line at the end of 1965. The 1300 and 2000 cars were modified in 1974 and 1975 respectively to include two small seats behind the front seats, becoming a 2+2. This Alfa Romeo Spider was supplied new into the dry climate of California, USA before being imported nine years ago into a private collection in Italy. Finished in red with black interior, this example is in good all-round cosmetic and mechanical condition. At the time of cataloguing a UK registration document had been applied for and it should be available by the time of the auction. The car is supplied with an MoT test certificate which expires in August 2018 and comes complete with tools. The Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce is as popular as ever and with this very good example, an important factor, being offered with a very tempting estimate, we feel that it represents excellent value in today's market place for an enthusiast to take to the next level.
