En 2014, elle est cédée à un collectionneur français qui la rapatrie dans son pays, une expertise soulignant alors "l'absence totale de corrosion". C'est sur cette base qu'une restauration débute fin 2014 pour s'achever il y a peu, après 200 heures de travaux. Un important dossier de factures et photos accompagne le véhicule. De plus, la voiture a bénéficié d'une conversion de l'éclairage et des pare-chocs aux versions européennes. S'agissant d'une version US, elle est équipée du moteur 2.4 à injection qui développe 140 cv et non 130 comme sur les versions T européennes à carburateurs. Seuls 1302 exemplaires de Targa 2.4 US auraient été produits cette année-là. Disposant de nombreuses options, avec ses jantes Fuchs, cet exemplaire qui n'a connu qu'un nombre limité de propriétaires est tout particulièrement attrayant. He kept the car for 21 years before selling it to Charles John Egland, an eminent member of the Porsche Club of America. Egland owned the 911T for a further 20 years, undertaking a partial restoration in 2006 that included refurbishing the engine. It was sold in 2014 to a French collector who had the car brought over to France, when an inspection confirmed " the absence of any corrosion ". Restoration work commenced at the end of 2014 and was completed a short while ago, after some 200 hours of work. A large file of invoices and photos come with the car. The Porsche has had the lights and bumpers converted to the European configuration.
