Beschreibung:

The Alfa Romeo Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993 and is widely regarded as a design classic. It remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The last Spider was produced in April 1993 and the last rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo produced before Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was introduced on 23rd May 2012. The first presentation of the car, as a prototype, was at the Turin Motor Show in 1961. However, the continuing success of existing models and the economic challenges facing Italy at the time meant that the first pre-launch production Spiders only began to emerge from the Pininfarina production line at the end of 1965. Visually almost identical to the earlier Spider 1600 Duetto, the 1750 Spider was the next step in the genesis of the Duetto Spider. Originally sold in California, this Alfa Romeo arrived in the UK in 1993. Since then it has been converted to righthand drive and benefitted from a full engine rebuild and a repaint. A substantial history file confirms the significant level of expenditure over a 22 year period. Our inspection confirmed this to be a very good example; the hood has recently been replaced and the body shows no signs of corrosion. The interior is exceptionally tidy and mechanically there appears to be no known faults, with the engine starting immediately when requested. The vendor, who is an Alfa Romeo enthusiast, has owned EKH 156J for three years and looked after her with passion and commitment. Supplied with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 9th October 2015, this 1750 Spider is a very useable example of a handsome and stylish sports car.
