Beschreibung:

The Alfa Romeo Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993 and is widely regarded as a design classic. It remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The last Spider was produced in April 1993 and the last rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo produced before Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was introduced on 23rd May 2012. The first presentation of the car, as a prototype, was at the Turin Motor Show in 1961. However, the continuing success of existing models and the economic challenges facing Italy at the time meant that the first pre-launch production Spiders began to emerge from the Pininfarina production line only at the end of 1965. Visually nearly identical to the earlier Spider 1600 Duetto, the 1750 Spider Veloce was the next step in the genesis of the Duetto Spider. Benefitting from significant refinements throughout, the 1750 Spider Veloce combined Pininfarina's iconic 'round-tail' spider (a.k.a. Osso di Seppia) with the improved mechanicals of the later series spiders. This 1750 Spider Veloce has been owned by the current vendor for the last 11 years and is only being sold due to lack of suitable storage space. Clearly as well as being an Alfa Romeo owner, the vendor is an enthusiast with a great deal of knowledge and expertise. Less than 300 miles have passed since BGH60H benefitted from a full engine rebuild, including, pistons, liners etc and any new owner will need to treat her with caution for a little while. When requested the engine fired up immediately and the side draught Weber carburettors appear to be working well and in unison. The red coachwork is in good order, as is the black interior. Supplied with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 19th June 2014, sadly a lot of the history has been misplaced for this splendid Alfa Romeo, however, any inspection will confirm the quality of this fine example 1750.
