Beschreibung:

Ferruccio Lamborghini's first production car, the Touring-styled 350GT, debuted at the 1964 Geneva Motor Show. The work of two of Italy's most illustrious automobile designers, the 350GT featured a glorious 3.5-litre, four-cam V12 designed by Giotto Bizzarrini, housed in a tubular chassis penned by Gianpaolo Dallara. The 350GT's four camshafts and all-independent suspension meant that it up-staged the best which Ferrari offered at the time, though Maranello quickly responded with the 275GTB announced the following year. Although de-tuned from its original, prototype incarnation, the Lamborghini V12 delivered 270bhp in production form, an output sufficient to propel the 350GT to 150mph. Only a handful of cars had been completed by the end of 1964, but production soon picked up, and by the time of the replacement 400GT's arrival in 1966, a total of 143 had been built. The car offered here is one of the last 350GT models built before the standardisation of the 400GT and was sold new in Bologna, Italy in May 1966. Originally finished in silver with black leather interior, it is Lamborghini's 73rd car built. It remained in Italy until 1996 when it was acquired by the previous (Norwegian) owner. The car is reported as having been trouble free while in the latter's possession, successfully completing two trips to the South of France with no major work necessary other than regular servicing and replacement of the exhaust with a stainless-steel system. The present owner acquired the vehicle at Bonhams' Goodwood Revival sale in September 2002. Now UK registered, it is attractively finished in silver-blue metallic with black leather upholstery and comes with copies of the original factory records and old Norwegian registration papers.
