Beschreibung:

The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. It was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. The performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction aided by the relatively light weight of the car. This early example presents in un-restored condition and tidy throughout although the paint shows some micro-blistering as well as some age-related chips. The engine bay is in 'oily rag' condition but does benefit from a new radiator and a stainless steel exhaust. It sits on steel wire wheels with an interior of blue leather with contrasting white piping and the correct steering wheel fitted. Offered at no reserve, this hugely popular icon of the classic car world would offer its new owner a straight forward entrée into classic car ownership. Intressted parties should note that, due to circumstances beyond our control, this lot has been withdrawn.
