Beschreibung:

1965 PORSCHE 356 SC COUPE Registration No. LMM324C Chassis No. 131900 Engine No. P813491 Ivory with maroon interior. Engine: four cylinder, 1,582cc, 95bhp at 5,800rpm; Gearbox: four speed synchromesh; Brakes: ATE discs; Suspension: independent front with parallel trailing arms transverse torsion bars and anti-roll bar, rear independent swing axle with transverse torsion bars telescopic shock absorbers. Right hand drive. The new Porsche Type 356 was launched at the 1949 Geneva Salon, the type number being the 365th project undertaken by the Stuttgart based Porsche design office since its formation in 1930. The new cars found immediate success in all forms of motor sport which reflected in sales, and when the Porsche family returned to their Zuffenhausen factory in 1950, all-steel bodywork was introduced. The original 1,131cc engine was enlarged to 1,286cc and 1,488cc during 1951 and in its final form of 1,582cc in 1955, which was then standardised for the remainder of its production run up to 1965. With the introduction of the 356C the car was visually little changed from the previous series except that it had a new wheel and hubcap design, which covered the all new four-wheel disc brakes-the first time used on a customer road car. External variations were a larger rear window and twin air vents on the engine cover. The engine options were 'C' model with 8.5:1 compression ratio giving 75bhp or 'SC' with 9.5:1 compression ratio providing a very lively 95bhp at 5,800rpm, this engine being similar to the previous Super 90 series. The detail engine improvements were improved cylinder heads and stronger crankshaft. After thirteen years of production in which over 50,000 cars were produced with continual development, the 356SC was considered to be the best model both in appearance as well as performance and handling. The SC was unquestionably the best push rod engine Porsche ever built, providing a genuine 120mph performance. The car offered here has in recent years benefitted from an engine overhaul, a new clutch, and detail was given to the underside of the car. It is said to require a good tune at present and has been laid up during 1993, the last MoT certificate expired in November 1992. The original radio is still in working order. There is some corrosion, especially in the front wings of the bodywork and the driver's side door is said to not close properly. It is fitted with an optional Webasto Sun Roof and comes complete with the original manual. No reserve
