1964 Triumph TR4 Lot Number188 RegistrationAEW 383B Chassis NumberCT35995 Engine Number511695 Odometer reading9,834 miles Estimate£17,000 - £20,000 Print details Send this to a friend 1 more image Designed by famed Italian stylist Giovanni Michelotti, the TR4 was launched in 1961 and enjoyed a production run that lasted until 1967. Based on the chassis of the TR3A, the more modern and aggressive body of the TR4 also benefitted from improved passenger comfort with wind-up windows and face-level ventilation. Triumph used the 2138cc engine from the late production of the TR3A in the production of the TR4. The four cylinder engines of the TR range are amongst the easiest of the post war classics to own and maintain being supported by a large network of component suppliers and specialists. Originally registered in 1964, this attractive Triumph has recently benefitted from the care and attention of an enthusiast with an eye for detail. Works recently completed under his tenure have included a new water pump, new radiator and a new battery. The boot of this TR4 has had a new floor and sides and the car has been completely resprayed. This car sits well on a set of recently powder coated wheels and a new set of tyres. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and, although exempt from the test, an MoT test certificate valid until October 2019 is supplied. AEW 383B is described by the vendor as a joy to own and drive. This handsome TR4 is ready for a new owner to enjoy immediately.
