Description Issigonis’ friend John Cooper owner of the Cooper Car Company and designer and builder of Formula One and rally cars, saw the potential of the Mini for competition. Issigonis was initially reluctant to see the Mini in the role of a performance car, but after John Cooper appealed to BMC management, the two men collaborated to create the Mini Cooper. The Austin Mini Cooper and Morris Mini Cooper debuted in 1961. more powerful Mini Cooper, dubbed the “S”, was developed in tandem and released in 1963. This beautiful Mini was imported from Australia in September 2014. It has been raced in Australia since 1989 and is now transformed, updated and in full FIA Historic Appendix K specification with papers valid until 2026. The shell is an immaculate rust free Australian shell. The engine is a freshly rebuilt 1293cc Russell Engineering/Andy Messham unit ( 7times CTCRC Champion in his Mini) Partial spec listed below but list too long. The car has a new MOT until December 2017 and is fully road legal. New H4 SU carbs with Swiftune induction modification and correct manifold. Excellent results on rolling road and track. Correct points ignition and rebuilt straight cut remote type gearbox, new lsd, clutch, lightweight flywheel, all new cooling system components and new subframes. Correct suspension, brake system and new wheels with lightly scrubbed CR65/204 Dunlop historic tyres. The Mini has also been fitted with new belts, seat and extinguisher system etc etc. Goodwood interior also comes with the car. This fantastic Mini is ready to race in all FIA events.
