1964 ALFA ROMEO 2600 CABRIOLET TOURING Châssis n° 10601 192684 Vers la fin des années 1950, l'Alfa 1900 qui avait relancé la marque après la guerre commençait à vieillir au niveau du style et en 1958, Alfa-Romeo présenta la 2000 qui alliait un dessin plus moderne à la mécanique éprouvée de la 1900. La gamme 2000 comprenait aussi un élégant spider dessiné par Touring, mais son comportement n'avait pas la vivacité des récentes Giulietta et Giulia plus légères. Pour muscler cette nouvelle famille, Alfa proposa en 1962 un beau moteur six cylindres à deux arbres à cames en tête bien dans la tradition de la marque, d'une cylindrée de 2 584 cm3 donnant 145 ch. La série 2600 retrouva un peu de vigueur, mais le Spider fut un modèle plus routier que sportif, apte au grand tourisme, stable et freinant bien, confortable et spacieux. Un obstacle limita sa diffusion : son prix élevé même sur le marché américain. Sa production fut d'environ 2 225 unités et sa rareté comme son style et le luxe de ses finitions en font un modèle désormais activement recherché par les collectionneurs. Ce superbe cabriolet faisait partie de la collection de Jacques Capoulade, homme exquis et membre de l'ACF. Il l'avait acheté en 1989 à M. Jean-Louis Thomas d'Angoulême qui la possédait depuis 1976. Cette automobile qui s'inscrit dans la plus grande tradition des décapotables italiennes représentant cette époque mythique de la Dolce Vita a été très bien entretenue par les Capoulade et régulièrement révisée par leur mécanicien local en Auvergne. Son intérieur en cuir noir certainement refait est somptueux ainsi que les moquettes. La capote et le rembourrage des sièges ont été refaits par VHB à Levallois (facture de 1990). Elle a participé à de nombreux rallyes dont le Rallye des Pyrénées en 1991 et à plusieurs rallyes organisés par le dynamique et délicieux Hervé Charbonneaux, ami proche de la famille. C'est là une très belle opportunité d'acquérir une automobile d'une élégance absolue, issue du dessin magistral de Touring et dotée d'une mécanique noble. La cote de ce modèle est en train de monter de manière significative, tendance normale pour une Alfa Romeo aussi rare et désirable. Elle sera livrée avec sa carte grise française et un dossier de factures. The series 2600 recaptured some vigour but the Spider was a tourer rather than a sports car, suitable for touring, stable and with effective brakes, and comfortable and spacious. There was one obstacle to its sales: its high price, even on the American market. About 2,225 units were produced and its rarity and style and the luxury of its fittings made it a model that is much sought after by collectors. This superb cabriolet was part of the collection of Jacques Capoulade, a refined man and a member of the Automobile Club de France [ACF]. He purchased it in 1989 from Mr Jean-Louis Thomas d'Angoulême who had owned it since 1976. This car, which is in the great tradition of Italian open top cars, harks back to the mythical era of La Dolce Vita. It was very well maintained by the Capoulade family and regularly serviced by their local mechanic in the Auvergne region.
