Beschreibung:

Little different from the preceding TR2, the TR3 was introduced in October 1955. Changes to the Standard Vanguard-derived 2-litre engine boosted power from 90 to 95bhp, but the most obvious difference was the adoption of an 'egg box' radiator grille. The engine developed 100bhp courtesy of a new cylinder head by mid-1956, then in August, Girling front disc brakes and the stronger Phase III Vanguard rear axle were standardised. Cosmetically revised but mechanically indistinguishable, the TR3A was phased in during 1957. New front-end styling featured a full-width grille incorporating sidelights/indicators, and for the first time there were locking door and boot handles plus an improved interior. This left-hand drive example was supplied new in the USA to Genser & Forman Inc, of New Jersey. Accompanying documents show that the car was imported into Italy in 1991, the vendor acquiring it that same year. Originally black with matching interior, the car underwent restoration after arriving in Italy and has been re-finished in British Racing Green with contrasting red interior. Presented in excellent condition in all respects, it comes complete with tool kit and owner's handbook, and is offered with BMIHT Production Certificate, old US State of Illinois title deed, import papers and old Italian registration documents. The car is currently registered in Monaco and possesses a valid roadworthiness certificate and Carte Grise. A fun open car for the coming summer and many more beyond.
