1961 Le Chambertin Grand Cru Bottled by Avery's Slight Damage and staining to labels/mixed levels 5x75cl Wonderfully sweet, jewel bright in colour and fruit quality. This was the last of three bottles out of 24 that Aidan Bell had opened. He brought it to the Southwold 2009 Bordeaux tasting in memory of John Avery It had almost certainly been made and bottled by Bourrée of Gevrey apparently. Its sweetness reminded Sebastian Payne MW of Gigondas. A glorious liquid even if not desperately like modern (18.5/20 points) - 2013
