Beschreibung:

1960 FERRARI 250 GT SERIES II CABRIOLET COACHWORK BY PININ FARINA Registration No. Italian registered Chassis No: 3179 GT Engine No: 3179 GT Metallic grey with red leather interior and black roof. Engine: V12 single overhead camshaft, 2,953cc, 220bhp at 7,000rpm; Gearbox: four speed manual; Suspension: independent front with helicoidal springs; rear, semi-elliptic springs; Brakes: four wheel disc. Left hand drive. The new Pininfarina styled 250 GT coupé was first seen at the 1958 Paris Salon having been built in the mould of a semi-luxury grand touring car. This coincided with the new Farina factory at Grugliasco. The coupé had a low waistline, increased window area and large rectangular front grille with the first Series II cabriolet delivered in early 1959. This followed a first Series of 40 cabriolets built on the 250GT platform. The Series II was supremely elegant and provided generous space for both driver and passenger and also a large boot area. With the roof of the cabriolet up, opening side vent windows provided extra ventilation when necessary. Mechanically the Series II cars utilised discs brakes all round. Other features were telescopic shock absorbers, all contributing to make the car more pleasant to drive. This superb example has resided in its present Italian ownership since the mid-1990s, and in 1998/9 underwent a comprehensive restoration of bodywork and mechanics. The car has been beautifully repainted and entirely reupholstered to the appropriate scheme of metallic grey exterior with burgundy red trim. Since completion of the work, the vendor has used the car regularly and accrued 8,000 kilometres without any problems, and today describes it as being ready to use and enjoy. This is a fine opportunity to acquire one of the most elegant of Ferrari grand touring cabriolets, in excellent all-round condition.
