1960 ALFA ROMEO GIULIETTA SPIDER TWO-SEATER Registration No. Not UK registered Chassis No. AR149509682 Engine No. AR 00102 31633 Red with black and red interior, black hood. 1960 ALFA ROMEO GIULIETTA SPIDER TWO-SEATER Registration No. Not UK registered Chassis No. AR149509682 Engine No. AR 00102 31633 Red with black and red interior, black hood. Engine: four cylinder in line, twin overhead camshafts, single Solex carburettor, 1290cc, 80bhp at 5800rpm; Gearbox: synchromesh manual four-speed; Suspension: independent front by wishbones and coil springs, coil springs to live rear axle; Brakes: hydraulically operated four wheel drum. Left hand drive. Alfa Romeo have long been a leading name in motor car manufacture and in typical Italian style they evoke tremendous affection and enthusiasm as a driver's car. Their renown is based upon the competition success they enjoyed on both the road and track. Following the second world war, and under the direction of a brilliant design team, the company built a fine range of vehicles of individual character with a typical flair for styling. The Giulietta of 1954 introduced the second generation of unitary construction, four-cylinder Alfa Romeos. First built as a sedan, it went on to worldwide success. The factory quickly made a platform chassis available to specialist coachbuilders and it was on one of these that Pinin Farina built this elegant spider bodywork. The Giulietta offered is presented in good all round condition, having seemingly undergone some restoration. The paintwork is good and the interior is clean and tidy with black seats piped in red. The car seems to run and drive well although the electrics may need some minor attention. It comes with original tool kit and jack; there is also the original driver's handbook and some Italian paperwork. A good looking example that should be a delight to own and drive, particularly on summer days.
