Matchless is one of the oldest British motorcycles marques, manufactured in London between 1899 and 1966. A wide range of models were produced under the Matchless name, ranging from small two-stroke engines to 750cc four-stroke twin cylinder models. Matchless had a long history of racing success; one ridden by Charlie Collier won the first single-cylinder race in the first Isle of Man TT in 1907. This 592cc Matchless was first registered overseas in 1957 and was repatriated to the UK in May 1978. A substantial machine, although not having been used for a number of years, the bike has been dry stored and appears complete but will require re-commissioning. Supplied with a V5 registration document.
