Il est d'ailleurs difficile de nier cette filiation aéronautique lorsque l'on observe ces productions dont les lignes avaient été affinées en soufflerie par l'avionneur. Ainsi, le modèle 405 proposait une face avant inspirée du descendant du " Beaufigher ", avion de combat construit par Bristol durant la 2nde Guerre mondiale. La brillante mécanique, quant à elle, provenait toujours de la BMW 328, revue par les ingénieurs Bristol et sa puissance était portée à 125 cv, chiffre remarquable pour un 2 litres de série. Le luxueux intérieur n'était pas en reste, et le tableau de bord regroupait toute l'instrumentation derrière le volant, un autre détail emprunté à l'aviation. Seuls 43 exemplaires de ce cabriolet 4 places de grand tourisme furent construits et plus rares encore sont les versions conduite à gauche puisque certaines sources évoquent 3 unités. L'exemplaire présenté a été acheté par notre collectionneur en 2006, alors que la voiture avait bénéficié d'une restauration ancienne. Disposant de soubassements très sains, la carrosserie arbore une élégante teinte vert sombre métallisée. Extérieurement, l'ensemble affiche une patine homogène et quelques détails pourront être repris à l'image des chromes de pare-chocs. A bord, l'habitacle tendu de cuir rouge avec moquettes assorties est cossu et en très bel état de conservation. L'instrumentation d'origine est complète. Pour ce qui concerne la mécanique, matching numbers, elle est accouplée à une boîte manuelle et devra bénéficier d'une révision complète n'ayant pas été utilisée ces dernières années.
