Beschreibung:

Arguably the fondest-regarded of Britain’s post-war saloons, the Alec Issigonis-designed Morris Minor was launched at the 1948 Motor Show. By 1961 the Minor had achieved its millionth sale, and the model continued in production for a further ten years. The first post-war Morris design, the unitary-construction Minor boasted torsion bar independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and a four-speed synchromesh gearbox. Powered initially by the company’s existing 918cc sidevalve four, the Minor received a more efficient 803cc overhead-valve engine in 1953. This Minor saloon has the 803cc overhead-valve engine and is finished in green with matching interior. Described as an ‘older rebuild’ and presented in generally good original condition, it has covered circa 45,000 miles from new. The car was shipped to Japan in 1995 to form part of an extensive private collection and returned to the UK in 2003 when it was sold at Bonhams’ RAF Museum, Hendon Sale in April that year (Lot 622). We understand that it was given a thorough professional mechanical check-over and service before being shipped to Japan. The vehicle is offered with old MoTs and correspondence confirming mileage, current tax/MoT and Swansea V5.
