1934 US Tour of Japan Team Signed Baseball Never was the arrival of a traveling baseball exhibition more celebrated than when Babe Ruth led a team of American "All-Stars" to Japan in 1934. Making the only overseas trip of his career, Ruth proved that his charisma knew no cultural boundaries, creating a frenzy everywhere he went in Japan equal to or greater than that he inspired in the states. This ONL (Heydler) baseball commemorating that historic tour to "The Land of The Rising Sun" is signed by 15 members of the US team. Included are Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, J. Cascarella, "Rabbit" Warstler, Jimmie Foxx, Clint Brown Charlie Gehringer, Eric McNair, Earl Whitehill, "Lefty" O'Doul, Bing Miller, Frank Hayes, and Lefty Gomez. Moe Berg and Bing Miller signatures are clubhouse versions. The mostly black ink signatures (Gehrig in dark blue) are consistently bold, averaging 7/10. The keys of Ruth (8/10) and Gehrig 7-8/10 are among the best. A light, clear coat of shellac has been applied, doing more to preserve the ball over time than harm it. In excellent condition overall with light to moderate soiling. LOA from PSA/DNA.
