1920 Citroën 10 HP Type A torpédo No reserve Carte grise française Châssis n° 2593 - Collection Trigano - Rare Type A, première Citroën - Présentation de bon aloi - Dans la collection Trigano depuis 1972 - Sans réserve Quand il décide de se lancer dans l'automobile, au lendemain de Première Guerre mondiale, André Citroën souhaite mettre ce moyen de transport encore balbutiant à portée du plus grand nombre. La concrétisation de cette idée passe par la réalisation d'une petite voiture populaire et, pour que les coûts de production restent raisonnables, elle doit être produite en grande série. La conception est confiée à l'ingénieur Jules Salomon et il en résulte une voiture simple à fabriquer, à utiliser et à entretenir, un peu à la façon d'Henri Ford avec son Modèle T. Pour autant, la 10 HP Type A ne manque pas d'une certaine élégance et, pierre angulaire du constructeur qui est en train de naître, elle est équipée d'un quatre-cylindres latéral de 1 327 cm3 développant 18 ch. Cette voiture va rencontrer un beau succès qui permettra à Citroën de la faire évoluer vers la B2, puis vers tous les modèles dont les ultimes descendantes perpétuent aujourd'hui le nom du créateur de la marque. Cette Citroën Type A a été achetée en 1972 par André Trigano, alors qu'elle se trouvait dans le département de Haute-Garonne, voisin de l'Ariège, depuis 1955 ! Elle présente une restauration ancienne et la peinture de teinte bleue est par endroit légèrement craquelée. La cloison pare-feu a été remplacée et la capote, refaite, est en bon état. La sellerie a été restaurée en simili rouge et le tableau de bord est complet, même si le compteur de vitesse ne fonctionne pas. Cette voiture constitue un jalon important autant de la marque que de la collection d'André Trigano, dont elle est la plus ancienne. C'est une version rare et historiquement intéressante.
