Fuerst study collection in 11 volumes which includes 1c. artists essay on thin paper, specimen set (2), 1920-23 lithographs, shades and plate blocks., imperf. 1c., 2c., 50c. and $1 on pieces with Shanghai cancellations, 1c. used in 1913 on local Tientsin cover, sets overprinted for Republic of China (2) and Yuan's Empire (2 different); an extensive collection of Provincial overprints in six volumes including many to $1 values, overprint varieties, some multiples, documents, lithographs with an extensive section of Kwantung including designs with corner characters, rare Kweichow (6), Szechwan four character overprint (4) and Yunnan with characters in corners lithographed (9) and American Bank Note Co. 1c., 2c. and 10c. specimen sets in singles and blocks of four, an imperf. set on file sheet; also volumes of cities, Numbered Post Offices, non-provincial overprints including high values, and a large working collection which is largely sorted and awaiting mounting. The collection concludes with some preliminary work on the writing of a catalogue of this issue. This detailed and specialised collection represents over twenty-five years of collecting of this vast, yet facinating, issue and offers a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated student to continue this magnum opus.
