1907 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER GHOST ROI-DE-BELGES - A SCRATCH BUILT CHILD'S ELECTRIC CAR This remarkable half scale scratch built model dates from around 1980 and took some ten years in the building. It was built by an engineer in England who put untold hours of thought and meticulous preparation into this project. It is an extremly faithful reproduction of the real vehicle with correct steel chassis, leaf springs with shackles, oil/grease nipples, rear wheel brakes, deep buttoned upholstery, folding windscreen, and ash wheels with pneumatic tyres. The bodywork is a handcrafted ash frame with aluminium panels as on the real cars. Features also include accurately scaled-down oil and acetylene side, head and tail lamps which are exquisitely manufactured and open to reveal wicks and oil bowl! Fine details include miniature horn, radiator badges, spare wheel and petrol can mounted on the running board. This Silver Ghost is powered by a 12 volt battery with variable speeds in both forward and reverse - selected of course by the outside gearchange lever. A small brochure accompanies this vehicle showing the model during its various stages of meticulous construction and includes a miniature Rolls-Royce Limited Guarantee card.
