Um 1930. Bleistift und Farbstift auf bräunlichem Pergamentpapier. Mitte r. monogr. Verso auf dem Passepartout ein gedrucktes Etikett von Hauswedell & Nolte, Hamburg, mit Auktionsvermerk.

Stark perspektivisch verkürzt werden Künstler und Modell dargestellt. Der Maler wirkt abweisend, er schenkt dem Modell keinerlei Achtung, die Farbtube wird unter seinem Fuß achtlos zertreten, seine Hände stecken untätig in den Hosentaschen. Ausnahmsweise zeigt sich hier ein Künstler, der mit seinem Beruf hadert und nicht seine Kreativität zur Schau stellt.

Zustandsbericht:
Unter Passepartout montiert. Mehrere Knicke und Papierquetschungen, wohl atelierbedingt, Mitte l. kl. geschlossenes Loch (ca. 7 mm), Mitte l. am Blattrand altrest. Papierläsur (ca. 2 cm), vereinzelt winzige Papierverluste (bis 1 mm) in der linken Blatthälfte.

The artist and model are depicted in a strongly foreshortened perspective. The painter seems dismissive, he shows no regard for the model, the paint tube is carelessly trampled under his foot, his hands are idly stuck in his trouser pockets. For once, an artist is shown who struggles with his profession and who does not display his creativity.

Condition report:
Mounted under passepartout. Several creases and squeeze marks, presumably from the making, small closed hole (approx. 7 mm) middle left, restored paper blemish (approx. 2 cm) at the margin middle left, isolated tiny spots of paper loss (up to 1 mm) in the left half of the sheet.
