Although the vast majority of the collection encompasses the period 1960-84 there a number of covers from 1884 onwards including Famagusta 1884 (registered) and 1886 cancelled "982" (the former with Headquarters Camp c.d.s.) and 1895 with c.d.s., Kyrenia 1884 and 1887 cancelled "974", Paphos 1896 cancelled "981", Polymedia 1887 cancelled "D47" and showing h.s. "INSUFFICIENTLY PAID", the following squared-circle d.s., Larnaca 1887, 1888 and 1895; Lefkonica 1887, Limassol 1896, Morphou 1894, Nicosia 1885, 1889 (2), 1896 and 1903 (two with Returned Letter Office c.d.s.). Also included is a 1929 cover from Govenor Stoors at Troodos to Sir Harry Lake in Jerusalem. Registration is well represented from the "REGISTERED/CYPRUS" oval d.s. to the self-adhesive and short-term unallocated and reallocated labels used for the huge proliferation of new post offices following the Turkish invasion of 1974. Other areas covered include censor marks, Official covers, first day covers, slogans, special event cancellations etc. The whole collection is arranged by Postal Districts and is neatly mounted and written-up in nine two-ring folders with most pages giving details of locations, population and dates during when each office was open. It is essential that this lot be viewed in order to appreciate the scope and detail supplied. A wonderful lot for the specialist.
