Thought to be 1840 Quinta do Noval 1x75cl Provenance - Note from the Vendor Charles Wrigley was the British Consul in Oporto from 1975 to 1977. When he retired in 1977 he was given this bottle of 1840 Quinta Noval Port as a leaving present among other gifts. We believe the presenter was the Portuguese gentlemen who worked in the Consulate as Mr Wrigleys personal secretary who allegedly had had the wine in his family for generations. Or it was given to Mr Wrigley by a member of one of the English Port Wine families whom he dined with each Wednesday lunch at The Factory House in Oporto. The bottle was given to me in 1978 by Mr Wrigley and I have kept it lying on its side in a wooden box in a dark cupboard .In the 40 years it has moved by land from Oporto to Bristol to London and finally to Romsey where I currently live. I am the son-n-law of Charles Wrigley Charles Wrigley was Consul in Oporto (exhibit B).His Office was in his Quinta da Fonte da Moura,Avenida da Boavista He associated with the English Port families I have always believed the story but I can give no guarantee of the Provenance of this Port and it must be bought as seen. It Is available for inspection in Romsay on Request.
