This Chagall image was used to illustrate the exhibition poster for Marc Chagall Peintures 1947-1967 at the Fondation Maeght in 1967, printed by Mourlot. The sheet size of the Maeght exhibition poster was 33 1/2 x 22 1/4 inches, suggesting, in the example at hand, that the exhibition information along the top and bottom margins of the poster may have been trimmed off prior to framing.
